The Story Behind the Tree Rings

Each design originates from a real tree that either fell naturally or was responsibly removed for safety reasons. We carefully exposed the growth rings by hand and created original hand-pressed prints using traditional ink and paper techniques before digitally preserving them.

A tree grows outward one ring at a time, with the oldest years at its centre and the newest toward the outer edge. Because each ring represents a single year of growth, the rings can be used to map moments in time — allowing your family’s years to become part of the artwork itself.

To support sustainability and allow the design to continue representing modern generations, the year sequences have been thoughtfully adjusted to extend to 2026.
